Council of Korean Americans (CKA) is proud to highlight a few of our confirmed speakers at our upcoming Empower Summit, which will be held in Washington, DC on November 1–2, 2019.
L. Song Richardson is the Dean and Chancellor’s Professor of Law at the UC Irvine School of Law with joint appointments in the Department of Criminology, Law & Society and Department of Asian American Studies. Song will speak at the Opening Dinner on Friday, November 1, on the importance of building bridges across different communities.
Eugene Cho is founder and visionary of One Day’s Wages, a grassroots movement of people, stories, and actions to alleviate extreme global poverty. Eugene will speak at the Plenary Session on Saturday, November 2 on how we can all become agents for positive change around the world.
Jane Hyun is an author and coach to Fortune 500 companies on culturally fluent leadership, diversity and inclusion. Jane will speak at a Fireside Chat on Saturday, November 2 about her book Breaking the Bamboo Ceiling, how Asian values can be at odds with Western corporate culture, and what we can do to support Asian employees and leverage their strengths in the workplace.
Bennett Kim is a Managing Partner of Big Rock Senior Housing and Founder & Chief Executive Officer of Sun Bay Senior Club. Bennett will speak at a Workshop on Saturday, November 2 about his perspectives on the future of senior housing and how we can create more space for older generations to connect and belong.
Mathew Park is anOrganizational Psychologist and Diversity and Inclusion Trainer. Mathew will moderate theFireside Chat featuring Jane Hyun on Saturday, Nov 2 to explore why there are so few Asian American leaders in corporate America and in elected office, and what practical tools we need in order to change that.
